Speed Euroseries beckon for 2011

Lars signs to compete in 2011 Speed EuroseriesLars will be tackling the European series in a Ligier JS49 prototype car which runs a 2 litre Honda engine and creates a high level of down force which makes them very similar to a Formula 3 car in performance. The Speed Euroseries is regarded as the junior series to the larger Le Mans prototypes like the famous Peugeots and Audi’s which race in the iconic Le Mans 24 hours.

Lars says; ‘This is a great opportunity to join forces with RLR Msport for the Speed Euroseries. In this environment I can learn from the team and drivers and the plan for the future is to move up to their Le Mans LMP2 program and compete at Le Mans, but first I have to show my talent and prove I have what it takes to reach the top’.

The Speed Euroseries will be supporting the Le Mans Series and each race will be run on some of Europe’s most famous circuits including Silverstone, Spa and Imola just to name a few.

Lars says; ‘ This is a great way for younger drivers like me to perform under the spotlight and in view of all the major sports car teams and manufactures which will hopefully lead onto a professional drive in the future. I will be driving some of the most famous circuits in the world and I cannot wait to get out there and start racing’.

The aim for Lars in 2011 is to learn the style of long distance races which incorporates driver changes where Lars will have another driver sharing the car with him. This means strategy and consistency is essential to getting a good result. With team RLR past results in the Speed Series there is no reason why Lars cannot fight for wins but the ultimate aim is to showcase his talent and enable him to one day race at Le Mans by moving up the sports car ladder with RLR Msport.

Keep up to date with all Lars’ activities and results as he will be posting them here on his website.
